In this week’s handle with care, Elizabeth Olsen tells the truth and a triple Taurus birthday.
May 13th was supposed to be a great day for Taylor Swift fans. 13 is Swift’s favorite number, and it was the only (New Music) Friday the 13th of the year. Swifties on the internet spent a lot of energy thinking up and sharing theories about what could happen on May 13th. A surprise release of “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” or “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” or maybe an entirely new 10th studio album. A theory is manically explained below by Jimmy Fallon:
Maybe she wasn’t planning to do anything on Friday, but got word that Swifties were expecting something. After Swift’s team posted an ominous photo of her initials in “Dune” sand, and a countdown on Instagram stories, people were excited. This ended up being the May 13th surprise:
A new merch drop! I often think about MJ from “Spider-Man” saying, “If you expect disappointment, then you can never really be disappointed,” and it fits with this debacle. This was actually kind of hilarious to see play out on Twitter; you could tell Swifties thought it was funny. I think it is entirely possible that she could’ve announced a new re-recording, but since so many people were expecting it, she decided against it so she could surprise everyone another day.
Ever since Swift openly admitted to planting Easter eggs in music videos and social media posts, everyone over analyzes everything she does. They were made to be obvious. I’m now hypothesizing that the Easter eggs are designed to throw off her fans, because everyone is catching on to her. I am personally still holding out hope that she will release “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” for the summer.

Elizabeth Olsen appeared in Vanity Fair’s lie detector interview series this week to promote “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”
In a viral clip, Olsen claims (4 times) that she never met co-star John Krasinski, although they appear in a scene together in the movie. However, she is certain she’s met his wife, Emily Blunt. The whole video is worth watching because she’s so funny in a very whimsical way, and then I found out she’s an Aquarius.
Keeping an eye out for Selener!!
Maker of my favorite blush Selena Gomez hosted “Saturday Night Live” for the first time last night. She even did a Miley Cyrus impression during her monologue, something 8-year-old me would not believe.

Late in the week, many celebrities signed a letter opposing the overturning of Roe v. Wade, while protests took place across the country yesterday.
I liked following Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ on-the-ground coverage of the New York City protest, including the video of her meeting a person with a “Seinfeld” tattoo sleeve.
Happy belated birthday to triple Taurus (my astrologically-ideal man) Robert Pattinson, who turned 36 on Friday. This is him wearing a hat from my alma mater:
Hello!!! I have really been loving Florence + The Machine’s new album, “Dance Fever.” My favorite tracks are “Free” (the music video was directed by Autumn de Wilde) and “Girls Against God” (Maggie Rogers backing vocals!!). I’m looking forward to my friend Leslie’s newsletter launch today! Leslie’s Library will be home to mini book reviews. Later today, I’m going to start watching “Conversations with Friends” and probably paint my nails. Thanks for reading!!
