In this week’s handle with care, the Oscars luncheon, and a potential celeb breakup.
Last week was Super Bowl Sunday, but more importantly it was the day of Rihanna’s halftime show. The Fenty Bowl was kept well under wraps, and she gave nothing away during press ahead of the performance. Everyone wondered whether or not she would have a surprise guest, and in an interview, she said she was “thinking about bringing someone.”
The someone in question was actually in her belly:
Baby #2 is on the way for Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, which is exciting to me because I loved her maternity fashion during her first pregnancy last year. The singer also appears on the cover of British Vogue’s March issue, along with her family.
Rihanna said that “both of her babies” were in the photos and she had no idea. In the cover story, she talks about the differences in dressing while pregnant and postpartum, and I thought this was cute knowing that she’s expecting again:
“Dressing for pregnancy was such a piece of cake. But dressing in postpartum, what the f**k do you do? The week that I came home from the hospital – that was nothing but sweats and hoodies. But the weeks after that, you don’t know what to put on. Everything is too small or too big. You kind of just gotta wait it out otherwise you end up buying so many clothes you’re not going to use. Well, unless you get pregnant again.”
Congrats to Rihanna on another Baby Fenty!
That’s that on that (?)
Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly are rumored to be broken up after Fox deleted all of their Instagram photos, and posted lyrics from Beyoncé’s song “Pray You Catch Me” from Lemonade. The news comes after rumors of cheating allegations on the part of Kelly with his guitarist.
Fox unfollowed everyone on the photo sharing app except Eminem, Harry Styles, and Timothée Chalamet.
However, according to People, Fox and Kelly are “working through their issues and haven’t split.”
Oscars Class of 2023
The Academy held their annual Oscars luncheon for this year’s nominees this week. The daytime event had stars mingling ahead of the ceremony on March 12.
President of the Academy Janet Yang also acknowledged The Slap from last year, saying that
it was “wholly unacceptable,” and the Academy’s response was “inadequate.” Yang also really wants the winners to keep their speeches short and sweet, preferably at 45 seconds.
Happy BAFTAs Day!
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts ceremony is happening as we speak, so I’ll hopefully share some thoughts next week, as there have already been some shake-ups among the winners.
I’m also waiting on seeing all the red carpet fashion, but here’s Florence Pugh’s look for the night in the meantime:
I happened to watch Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania this weekend, and while I personally thought that it was a bit of a flop (you just can’t put this out after Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), there were hot people in it! So, this will be handle with care’s first to-do list two-fer!!
First, we have former People’s Sexiest Man Alive Paul Rudd. If thirsting over Paul Rudd is wrong, I don’t want to be right!!!!!! I was sent the following tweet with a video of Rudd doing press in Australia. And it says it all!!
Next is Jonathan Majors, who is also starring in Creed III, out on March 3. He plays the newest MCU villain, Kang the Conqueror. When Majors first appeared in Quantumania, I had to stop myself from standing up and cheering in the theater.
He recently appeared on the cover of Ebony Magazine, in a very steamy Valentine’s Day-themed photoshoot.
Hi!! Short newsletter today, so I hope that’s alright! I’m going to continue enjoying the long weekend by watching Love Island and listening to Niall Horan’s new song “Heaven.” Have a great rest of the day everyone!!
